A mirror is impeccable. It shows you the exact reflection. yet hiding the truth before our eyes.
A photo is also impeccable. It has caught a reflection of reality. Still not always so sincerely. But a portrait ...

Getting a portrait painted of yourself can reflect the bright and fine, and even a completely distorted picture of you, so it is similar to what you want to see and always looking for in the mirror which will make you like the painting. That's a hard task for an artist. whats easy is a portrait who resembles too much reality, you so cant resemble. It is easy to blame the artist who is not perfect , a human. And without a doubt, an artist art can be wrong and disproportionate. And it's important artists can take critic!
But they were still painting what they see and feel. And without you can change it, it forced you to see your real self trough their eyes.
